Characteristics
More details
Dsr Fiberglass Chair is a fiberglass chair designed by Charles and Ray Eames. The Fiberglass Chairs were dispatched available in 1950, presenting another furniture typology that has since become widespread: the multifunctional chair whose shell can be joined with an assortment of bases to serve distinctive purposes. In response to the enormous prominence of the chair, the selection of bases and colors was subsequently expanded. Over the course of the next decade, the Fiberglass Chairs became one of the most amazing realized furniture designs of the 20th century. Vitra manufactures the Fiberglass Side Chairs and Fiberglass Armchairs by Charles and Ray Eames in some of the early unique colours. The fiberglass shells are portrayed by their exuberant visual allure, which is quite valued today. Fiberglass owes its appeal to a sporadic surface, which appears almost like a characteristic material thanks to its unmistakably visible fibres. The version with a polypropylene shell – the Eames Plastic Chair – also remains available. Together the two chair groups structure an extensive family, empowering countless variations of the classic Eames design, with a suitable version for almost every taste and purpose.
